Nos gustaría proponer la imagen de arriba como un modo útil de visualizar la siguiente etapa evolutiva en el desarrollo de la Red de Transición. Se basa en una célula, un sistema biológico, que se percibe de forma similar al proceso de emergencia orgánica de esta estructura. Aunque una célula no es una metáfora perfecta, en muchos aspectos es muy útil para explicar cómo funciona la Red de Transición.

We would like to propose the image above as a useful way of visualizing the next evolutionary step in the development of the Transition Network. It is based on a cell, a biological system, which feels in keeping with the organic emergence of this structure. Although a cell is not a perfect metaphor, in many ways it is very useful for explaining how the Transition Network functions.

En este modelo, iniciativas de distintas escalas emergen orgánicamente como esporas en una placa de petri (como están haciendo en este momento), a la escala que ellas mismas consideran más apropiada, para a continuación conectarse entre ellas de la manera que consideren más útil y establecen redes de la manera que consideren más adecuada. Estas redes, a su vez, se conectan entre sí de la manera que consideren más útil, para a su vez establecer redes de manera que sean más productivas (esto se representa mediante los círculos de diferente tamaño dentro del círculo principal, los círculos más grandes representan iniciativas regionales y los más pequeños iniciativas locales individuales).

In this model, the various scales of initiatives emerge organically like spores in a petri dish (as they do at the moment) at scales that feels most appropiate to them, then network together in the ways that feel most useful, creating the networks between each other that they feel to be appropriate to them, then network together in the ways that feel most useful, creating the networks between each other thet they feel to be most productive (these are represented by the circles of varying sized within the main circle, larger ones representing regional initiatives, and the smaller circles individual local initiatives).

Red de Transición S.L. (Transition Network Ltd), en este contexto, constituye el anillo blanco que rodea a las iniciativas individuales. Funciona, de alguna manera, como una membrana celular, englobando el Propósito y los principios comunes a la Red de Transición y actúa como el catalizador que mantiene la expansión del círculo conforme crece el número de iniciativas en el interior de la célula. El papel de la Red de Transición se convierte por tanto en continuar esta función catalítica, en revisar continuamente y redefinir la identidad de lo que significa la Transición, así como en posibilitar la máxima cantidad posible de interconexiones entre las diferentes iniciativas y aspectos de la Transición.

Transition Network Ltd, in this context, becomes the white encircling ring surrounding the individual initiatives.  it functions, in some ways, like a cell membrane, enshrining the Purpose and principles common to the Transition network, and acts as the catalyst which keeps the circle expanding as the number of initiatives grows within the cell.  The role of Transition Network then becomes to continue this catalysing function, to continually review and redefine the identity of what Transition means, as well as enabling the maximum amount of networking between the different initiatives and aspects of the Transition work possible.

Esto significaría facilitar una interrelación sencilla y eficaz entre los distintos niveles de centros e iniciativas, así como entre los distintos grupos de intereses, esto es, permitir a los diversos grupos de alimentación comunicarse entre sí, intercambiar las mejores prácticas y organizar eventos nacionales. Y lo mismo para los grupos de energía, economía, etc. También significaría facilitar la interrelación por áreas geográficas, cultura y tamaño de la población del proyecto. La comunicación así establecida sería profunda, diversa y se perpetuaría a sí misma.

This would mean facilitating smooth and efficient networking between the various levels of hubs and initiatives, as well as between different interest groups, i.e. enabling the various food groups to communicate, swap best practice, and organize national events, as well as the energy groups, economics groups and so on.  It would also enable networking by geographical areas, by culture and by population size of project.

The communication thus enabled would be deep, diverse, and self-perpetuating.

El anillo exterior de este diagrama representa dos aspectos adicionales del trabajo de Red de Transición S.L., el desarrollo de una "frontera creativa" con los otros grupos y áreas de interés. Los círculos alrededor del anillo exterior representan un fuerte conjunto de asociaciones/partenariados en continuo desarrollo. Esto incluye organizaciones clave como la Asociación del Suelo (Soil Association), NEF (New Economics Fundation), el Centro para la Tecnología Alternativa (Centre for Alternative Technology), etc. Los círculos dentro de este anillo representan las nuevas ramificaciones que emergen de la Transición, Negocios de Transición / Gobierno Local, etc. El papel de Red de Transición S.L. también consistiría en desarrolloar iniciativas y proyectos con los grupos de partenariado, así como en interrelacionar las nuevas ramificaciones entre sí con otras redes relevantes. Conforme el tiempo pase, estas ramificaciones crecerán, quizás terminando por ser tan grandes o mayores que el círculo actual de comunidades en Transición.

The outer ring in this diagram represents two additional aspects of the work of Transition Network Ltd, its development of creative 'edge' with the other groups and areas of interest.   The circles around the outer ring represent the strong set of partnerships that continue to be developed.

This includes key organizations such as the Soil Association, NEF, Centre for Alternative Technology and so on.   The circles within that ring represent the emerging new strands to Transition, Transition Business / Local Government etc.   The role of Transition Network Ltd would also be to develop initiatives and projects with the partner groups, and also to network the emerging strands together with the relevant other networks.   as time passes, those will grow, perhaps ending up as large or larger than the current Transition communities circle.
